Pyongyang > Kaesong > DMZ

During our tour in Pyongyang we’ll be seeing all the must-see sights of the capital such as the Mausoleum where both Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il lay in state, we’ll make our way up to the top of the Juche tower, ride the deep and mysterious Pyongyang Metro, visit the Korean War Museum and much much more.

Throughout your stay in Pyongyang, which is a beautiful city - you will visit all of the famous sights around the capital including the Mausoleum where both Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il lay in state, Juche Tower and the Pyongyang Metro to name just three. North Korea receives many foreign tourists each year but no location you will visit will be 'thronged' with people. Quite the opposite actually. When you have an opportunity to get right up close to some amazing structures and sights of importance around Pyongyang you will have the personal space to appreciate them.

You will also travel to Kaesong City from Pyongyang, a quaint and relaxed Korean city to explore a bit before heading to the DMZ (Demilitarised Zone)  – the border between North and South Korea which you will often see on news reports. We will show you around the blue buildings and you will see soldiers from DPRK and South Korea peer across at each other just meters apart. This heavily armed strip of land has ironically become a peaceful, highly fertile nature reserve for native Korean species.

This tour can be extended for an extra (3) Days + €300 if you wish to visit the east side of the Korean Peninsula. Including a visit to the Mt. Kumgang region and Wonsan City, a favourite holiday destination for North Koreans and well known for its high-quality seafood and swimming spots along the coast. There will likely be locals here kicking around a soccer ball, playing frisbee or volleyball. You will be more than welcome to join in. It also includes a visit to Kuryong falls and Samil Lagoon.

  • Twin share accommodation (single supplements are available for an extra 40 EUR per night).
