On a tour of North Korea - Liberation Day celebrations are a spectacle that not many people can say they've had the privilege of witnessing. Liberation Day is a celebration of the ending of the Japanese occupation of Korea. We'll be engrossing ourselves in the celebrations which feature plenty of dancing with the locals in an elaborate Mass Dance, aswell as impressive fireworks displays.

We'll also take in the must see sites of Pyongyang such as the Korean War Museum, the mysterious Pyongyang metro, and the Mausoleum where President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il lay in state.

We'll also take a trip to the notorious DMZ (demilitarised zone) where North meets South.

Those staying on in Group B will venture North to the border town of Sinuiju. Very few tourists get to see this city and it gives a good insight into Korean lift outside of the capital. We can visit a local Kindergarten and explore the city centre.

During Group A of our tour, we’ve been given special access to a Russian Mi17 helicopter to take for a whirl around Pyongyang city for a unique aerial tour of the capital.

We’ll swoop around the iconic, 105-story Ryugyong Hotel, do a low flyby of the Taedong River passing the Juche Tower, have a great glimpse of May Day Stadium – the world’s largest stadium, and explore the many districts sprawling across the city for fantastic and unique photography opportunities. This joyride is completely optional and is €250 per person on top of the tour costs. If you are interested please let us know while booking.
